Murukku

Murukku (முறுக்கு) is one of the most famous snack which is made during festivals like Diwali in India. Kids will love this for it's crunchiness and spiral look.



Ingredients :

Rice flour -  2 cups
Urad flour  - 1/4 cup
Omam - 2 teaspoons
Sesame seeds - 2 teaspoons
Butter - 1 tbs
Salt - to taste
Oil - to fry

Procedure :

1. Mix all the above ingredients and pour boiled water to make a dough. (Make sure it's not too watery. Make the dough somewhat similar to Roti dough)

2.Take a Murukku Press(You can get this Murukku Press in Indian stores) and stuff the dough and press it to make murukku. Just rotate the press in spiral.

3. Heat the oil in a pan. Once the oli is hot enough , place the raw Murukku in the oil and fry, Once it turns to Golden brown color turn the other side and fry.

4.Crunchy Murukku is ready.
